Gorilla tracking began in 1993, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park covers half of the world’s recorded Mountain gorillas - it's also home to many bird species.
Trip Highlights: The main activity is gorilla tracking, followed by a forest walk to Muyanja waterfalls and the option of visiting the Batwa community.
Day One: Arrival - Entebbe -Kampala - 42km.
On arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide from BUSHMEMORIES, who will then transfer you to Kampala for the overnight at either Serena Kampala Hotel (high-end/luxurious accommodation), Hotel Africana (medium-class accommodation), or Namirembe Guest House (low-budget/basic accommodation). B/B.
Day Two: Kampala - Bwindi - 530 km.
After breakfast, your guide will drive you through the rolling green hills of the Switzerland of Uganda (Kabale) with beautiful scenery and terraced farming to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Best known for its Mountain Gorillas, the Montane Forest also attracts spectacular birds.
There are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemics, including the African Green Broadbill, Bar-Tailed Trogon, and other beautiful forest species. The nature walk will lead you to the Munyaga Waterfall and a chance to see Primates such as the Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Blue monkey, and other species. Spend the night at either Gorilla Forest Camp (high-end/luxurious accommodation), Lake Kitandara Tented Camp/ G and C’s Buhoma Homestead (medium-class accommodation), or UWA Community Bandas.(Low budget/basic accommodation). Day Three: Bwindi - Gorilla Tracking.
Gorilla tracking. Take with you lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences. There are now only 650 left in the world! The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours with Park Guides interpreting the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. In the afternoon, relax at the Camp or an option of taking a forest walk.
Overnight at either Gorilla Forest Camp (high-end/luxurious accommodation), Lake Kitandara Tented Camp/ G and C’s Buhoma Homestead (medium-class accommodation) or UWA Community Bandas.(Low budget/basic accommodation). F/B.
Day Four: Bwindi - Kampala - 530km.
After breakfast, depart Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for Kampala, having lunch en route and arriving in the evening. Overnight at either Serena Kampala Hotel (high-end/luxurious accommodation), Hotel Africana (medium-class accommodation), or Namirembe Guest House (Low budget/basic accommodation). B/B.
Day Five: Kampala - out. 42 Km.
Transfer to the airport and later fly out, depending on international Flight departure times.

Please note that the gorilla tracking in this itinerary can be done in Rwanda as well if permits/accommodation can’t be obtained in Uganda at the time of your booking.
Gorilla tracking is dependent on the availability at the time of your booking. Gorilla permits in all parks are on a very high demand, and we advise that you book them as early as possible.
